I created The Help Couch to facilitate positive change for individuals and couples. Intimate relationships, parenting, growing up, work, school, and social commitments - we understand how trying everyday life can be when things are out of balance. You are not alone in your challenges and you do not have to carry the weight by yourself. Together we will cultivate greater confidence, build richer, more intimate and fulfilling relationships and improve your feelings and behaviors.

Specializing in self-worth, intimate relationships, and family systems, our approach helps individuals and couples overcome conflicts and keep passion alive. We help people conquer problematic behaviors and improve mental health and functioning.

I care deeply about my work and the people we see. I have strived to hire a great group of therapists while creating a practice based on honesty, integrity, and empathy. I am here to witness, listen, and assist you in the process of understanding what you are struggling with. Be it the stressors you are currently encountering or the hardships and heartaches you have experienced in your life, I am here to focus on and assist with your needs. I am here to be your helper in understanding and coping with your depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, and family issues. I am here to talk about work - family balance, family roles stress, parenting, marriage and divorce, grief/loss, addiction, and other challenges.

I utilize Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Family Dynamics/Systems, Culturally Informed, Integenerational Therapy, and Client Centered Therapy Models for individuals, couples, and families. I am LGBTQ friendly. I have worked as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for the past 10 plus years.

I have been a practicing counselor for 12 years and specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy and narrative therapy with a person centered approach. I’m interested in hearing and understanding your perspective, what excites you, what challenges you, and what troubles you. Together we will identify your stressors and difficult situations. Then, we will work as a team to understand and address the negative thoughts and linked behaviors. Through exploration and honesty we will figure out what works best for you.

I have been supporting and empowering individuals, families and communities for over 25 years as a social worker. I continue to be humbled while working alongside others to get through the tough moments in life.

 

I practice empowerment based therapy for individuals, couples, and groups. Other specialties include grief and loss, death and dying, addiction and recovery, anxiety, depression, self-worth, mindfulness, negative thinking and any behaviors that get in your way!
